The feed-in tariff system in Turkey

„YEKDEM” is the abbreviation for the mechanism to promote renewable energy sources.
This support mechanism guarantees operators of green systems that are commissioned between 1 July 2021 and 31 December 2030 a fixed purchase guarantee and feed-in tariff.

The feed-in tariffs are paid out in TRY, but since 1 June 2023 there has been a monthly, USD-indexed recalculation taking into account minimum and maximum prices. An escalation mechanism is provided for the recalculation. The inflation rate is taken into account at 40 % (25 % producer price index, 15 % consumer price index), while the exchange rate development is taken into account at 60 % (30 % USD, 30 % EUR).
 
 Accordingly, the feed-in tariffs as of 4 March 2024 are set as follows:

* The subsidy applies to plants with a reservoir area of 1 to 15 km².
** The subsidy applies to installations that already have a pre-licence at the time of promulgation of the presidential decree.
*** The subsidy applies to electricity that is generated in the wind or solar power plant, stored in the integrated storage unit
and then transferred to the grid. Electricity storage units that are charged with electricity from the grid are not subsidised.
**** An application ordinance on the promotion of electricity generation from pumped storage power plants will be promulgated.​
