​​​​Atlanta​, Georgia, August 23, 2024: Rödl & Partner advised Schütz Container Systems, Inc. (SCHÜTZ US), a subsidiary of Schütz GmbH & Co. KGaA (SCHÜTZ), on its stake acquisition of Fibre Drum Sales, Inc. (FDS), an industrial rigid & flexible packaging supply and reuse company. FDS specializes in the sale, reconditioning, and reprocessing of industrial packaging solutions.


For more than 30 years, SCHÜTZ has successfully cooperated with FDS in the field of intermediate bulk container (IBC) reprocessing. This expanded partnership will further strengthen both companies' positions in the North American market.

“FDS is the largest independent IBC reprocessing company in Illinois and the Chicago area. Over the decades, they have developed immense expertise in cleaning IBCs. Deepening our excellent partnership with FDS will allow us to enhance our sustainable solutions for customers and grow this important part of our business,” emphasized Frederik Wenzel, President of SCHÜTZ US, about the expansion of the partnership.

Rödl & Partner's U.S. Transaction Services team, led by Frank Breitenfeldt, served as the exclusive financial advisor to SCHÜTZ. The team provided critical support in buy-side financial and tax due diligence, deal negotiation and purchase contract drafting assistance.
