Rödl & Partner advised SLS Group on its acquisition of HealthEx Corp.

Atlanta, Georgia, 16 March 2021: Rödl & Partner advised SLS Group’s subsidiary Associated Couriers Inc. on its acquisition of HealthEx Corp., a New York-based courier service provider exclusively dedicated to the healthcare sector. Founded in 1999, HealthEx Corp.’s portfolio includes the delivery of laboratory specimen, pharmaceuticals, radioactive materials, home healthcare and medical records.
 
The acquisition will expand the combined companies’ services, customer universe and regional footprint. HealthEx Corp.’s distinctive platform with strategically lo-cated dispatch centers throughout the U.S., services customers in 30+ states. The combined regionalized and decentralized distribution network provides for accel-erated fulfilment speed.
 
The transaction will make Associated Couriers Inc. the U.S. leader in healthcare and specialized life science logistics and will accelerate SLS Group’s global strat-egy of becoming a top market player in healthcare and specialized life science logistics services.
 
Rödl & Partner's U.S. Transaction Services team led by Frank Breitenfeldt acted as the exclusive financial and tax advisor to SLS Group. Key service areas includ-ed buy-side financial and tax due diligence. The transaction was completed on February 16, 2021.
