Munich, Birmingham, 22 December 2021: Rödl & Partner advised Hörmann, Europe's leading door supplier, on the acquisition of the British Fen-Bay Group. The Fen-Bay Group consists of Fen-Bay Services, a leading provider for the installation and maintenance of construction elements on the British market, and the company TransDek, which produces and sells loading bay technology.
"We want to use this transaction to expand our position in the British market and further enhance the service we provide to our customers," says Christoph Hörmann, Managing Partner of the Hörmann Group. Rödl & Partner's longstanding expertise as an advisor to national and international family-run global market leaders meets Hörmann's requirements and wishes.
As part of the advisory services, Hörmann was supported by a specialised, interdisciplinary and international transaction team from Rödl & Partner in legal, tax and financial transaction issues. Partner Dr. Oliver Schmitt (Munich) and Partner Jan Eberhardt (Birmingham, UK) provided comprehensive legal (purchase) contract drafting and negotiation support from the initial discussions to the signing of the contract. The financial and industry-specific support was led by partner Isabelle Pernegger and the tax support by partner Anna Luce (Nuremberg).
The Hörmann Group is Europe's leading door supplier. More than 6,000 employees in 38 specialised factories in Europe, North America and Asia develop and produce high-quality doors, frames, operators, loading dock equipment and perimeter protection systems for use in private and commercial properties.
The headquarters of the globally active Hörmann Group is located in the small town of Steinhagen, near Bielefeld, Germany. The still family-run company recently recorded an annual turnover of more than 1 billion euros. Hörmann is present with over 100 individual sales locations in more than 40 countries, and additionally is represented by sales partners in more than 50 other countries. Fen-Bay Services, based in South Lincolnshire, was founded in 1999 and has grown into a leading supplier for the installation and maintenance of construction elements in the UK market. With more than 100 service technicians, Fen-Bay Services offers a nationwide 24/7 service. TransDek was founded in 1997 and is a specialist in loading bay technology. Together the two companies form the Fen-Bay Group.
