IDW PS 880

The testing of IT applications (software) ensures their high quality and is therefore also a sign of quality. At the same time, software certification ensures that the applicable legal requirements from the German Commercial Code, tax laws or industry-specific requirements – such as those for banks – are met.

We offer software certifications, test software solutions and assess whether the legal requirements placed on the software are fulfilled. This also applies to the tax requirements and any requirements defined by you. As a result of the GoBD, the requirements of the tax authorities have also been extended to subledgers.

The software certificate can be used to market your product – because it communicates to the outside world that your application fulfils a high quality standard.

The test follows the criteria-based approach. This means that the audit criteria are defined together with you and the audit itself is carried out according to the previously agreed criteria. For accounting systems, the requirements of the German Commercial Code and the German Fiscal Code must be met.
