Oslo, 27 April 2022: Rödl & Partner, the international advisory and audit firm, has entered into a partnership with Advokatfirmaet SELAND ORWALL AS, one of the leading medium-sized commercial law firms in Norway. As a result, Rödl & Partner will be present in the Norwegian capital Oslo from 25 April 2022.

The business law firm will operate under the name "Advokatfirmaet SELAND | RÖDL & PARTNER AS". While the firm maintains a clear focus on direct investments and transactions, SELAND | RÖDL & PARTNER will also be well positioned in providing legal and tax advice for major infrastructure projects in the country. SELAND ORWALL was founded by Johan S. Seland and four partners in 1993, and is one of the country's medium-sized law firms with its nearly 20 lawyers. Showing strong expertise in the real estate and M&A sector, SELAND ORWALL also enjoys an excellent reputation in strategic tax advice and all things VAT – a fairly rare sight in Norway.

"With SELAND | RÖDL & PARTNER we are now present in all of Northern Europe – a region where we have been active since 1993 and now rank among the largest international providers", says Prof. Dr. Christian Rödl, CEO and Chairman of the Board at Rödl & Partner. "Not least driven by the rapidly growing interest of our German clients, we have recently enlarged our footprint in Denmark and Finland significantly – the step into Norway was only logical for Rödl & Partner there, and our long friendship with SELAND ORWALL the best basis."

Norway, an EEA and Schengen state and member of EFTA and NATO, is one of Germany's closest partners in trade and commerce. "In these troubled times, Norway's strategic importance and relevance for the European energy supply have become even more visible", suggests Jens Pastille, managing partner for the Baltics and Nordics at Rödl & Partner. "Germany remains of vital importance for Norway – specifically German SMEs are highly welcome here," adds Johan S. Seland, founding partner of SELAND ORWALL and closely familiar with German-Norwegian business for many years. "We have big plans for the future, and are more than ever the first port of call for German companies in Norway," Johan S. Seland and Christian Rödl agree.

With consistently high growth over the years and their diverse investment landscape, the Nordic states are considered the most economically stable region in Europe. Major investment needs in the public infrastructure, a vivid real estate market and booming logistics and energy sectors ensure a high growth momentum for the coming years, and Norway in particular is gaining new weight as a steady, prosperous neighbor in the wake of the recent global geo-political upheavals.
