Bucharest, 31 January 2020: Rödl & Partner advised ADCURAM Group AG on the acquisition of a majority stake in STEINEL-Group, based in the Westphalian Herzebrock-Clarholz. The seller is the entrepreneur Ingo Steinel, who remains connected to the group through owning a significant stake and through continuing as managing director. The transaction, the details of which have been agreed to remain confidential, was completed at the end of 2019.
During the cross-border acquisition, ADCURAM was assisted in legal and tax matters by a team from Rödl & Partner specialized in transaction advisory. The project leadership was provided by Partner Bogdan Frățilă, Romania, responsible for the coordination of the entire transaction. Responsible for legal matters were Petre Lungu, Romania, Alex Barbier, Switzerland, and Marian Chirtoacă, Moldova, while responsible for tax matters were Liviu Plescan, Romania, Alexander Dudli, Switzerland and Mariana Danilișin, Moldova.
The STEINEL company was founded in 1959 by Mr. Heinrich Steinel and has been developed over the years from, originally, a manufacturer of heating elements in electrical devises into one of the leading suppliers of presence sensors, motion sensors, multi sensors, sensor lights, as well as hot air and hot glue guns. The group has been experiencing exceptional growth in recent years due to increasing automation of buildings. STEINEL sensors are world leaders in intelligent lighting control and make a significant contribution to reducing energy consumption.
