Value chain: Supporting processes

The listed process areas of the value chain depend on supporting processes which assist you with your daily work and make that work easier. The relevance of comprehensive material master data in the company is increasing as internal and external users make demands on the quality of the master data to enable the correct design of subsequent processes. There are also increased legal requirements for these processes. For example, recently it has become necessary to link the material master data of the goods number with requirements from VAT law (reverse charge procedure). Companies which already proactively design such processes are able to react quicker and more efficiently to changes in requirements.
 
The following is an overview of the most important challenges which have to be considered with selected supporting processes:

• Material master data process: New input, change and cancellation of materials not extensively regulated​
• Authorisation process: Authorisation for functions important for foreign trade extensively assigned
• Training process: Numerous departments and positions involved with foreign trade processes. Accordingly, there is an urgent need for extensive training to avoid system errors
