Covid-19 Update

In light of the advancing vaccination schemes, Singapore just recently amended its travel restrictions as well as workplace safety regulations.

Travel Restrictions 

Vaccinated Travel Lane:

As of 1 September 2021, short-term visitors or holders of Long-Term Passes (i.e. Long-Term Visit Pass, Student's Pass, Work Pass or Dependent's Pass) who are fully vaccinated* and who are traveling from Brunei or Germany can apply for a Vaccinated Travel Pass (VTP) to enter Singapore.

Long-Term Pass holders must have spent the last 21 consecutive days before departing for Singapore in the country of departure or in Singapore.

Fully vaccinated travelers are not required to serve a SHN if they get a negative test result.

*An individual is concerned fully vaccinated 14 days after s/he has received the full regimen of Pfizer-BioNTech/Comirnaty, Moderna or WHO EUL Vaccines. Unvaccinated children are not allowed to travel under the VTL.

Travel health control measures for Work Pass Holder General Lane:

As of 30 August 2021, the following measures apply:

• Pass holders from category 1 countries (Hong Kong, Macao, Mainland China, and Taiwan) are not required to serve a SHN if they get a negative test result;
• Pass holders from category II countries (Australia, Brunei, Canada, Germany, and New Zealand) must serve a 7-day SHN in a suitable accommodation or place of residence;
• Pass holders from category III countries (Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Norway, Republic of Korea, and Switzerland) must be fully vaccinated before arrival and serve a 14-day SN at a SHN dedicated facility or place of residence or suitable accommodation;
• Pass holders from category IV countries (all other countries excluding Bangladesh, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka*) must be fully vaccinated and must serve a 14-day SHN at a SHN dedicated facility.

*Entry is currently disallowed for pass holders with travel history, including transit, to any of the above listed countries.

Requirements for Safe Management Measures at the workplace – Key changes:

As of 19 August 2021, the safe management measures at the workplace have been revised as follows:

• Up to 50 percent of employees who are able to work from home are allowed to return to the workplace – regardless of their vaccination status;
• Temperature screening and symptom checks are no longer required at workplaces;
• Work related events are capped at 50 persons;
• Social gatherings at the workplace are allowed in a group of up to 5, regardless of vaccination status.

Failure to comply with Safe Management Measures is punishable with a fine of up to SGD 10,000 or imprisonment for up to 6 months, or both.
