Internal audit

Given the ever-increasing complexity and the associated risks, internal auditing is an essential component of good and, above all, holistic corporate governance.

Not only multinational or capital market-orientated groups, but also medium-sized and internationally active (family) companies as well as companies in various sectors (healthcare industry, non-profit,  energy industrypublic companiessportsautomotive industryindustrial production, and real estate industry) are facing these challenges.

Internal audit is an independent, objective assurance. It yields independent information based on which the company's governing bodies, e.g. the supervisory board, take decisions.

With a systematic approach to evaluating and improving the effectiveness of risk management, internal control systems and corporate governance, internal audit helps the company achieve its goals.

One of the central objectives of the internal audit is to check a company's business processes and existing control systems for appropriateness and efficiency and to identify areas for optimisation.

Internal audit compares targeted and actual results (adequacy audit). In addition to various process documenting and monitoring tools, the use of data analyses is indispensable today. Such analyses yield a wealth of data that can be used for cost-effective risk assessment.
