Malaysia Digital (MD) status succeeding MSC Malaysia status

MD is the enhanced and revamped initiative following the success of the Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) Malaysia after 26 years in operation. 
  
The new and enhanced framework seeks to transform Malaysia´s digital capabilities and digital economy.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob launched the Malaysia Digital Initiative on 4 July 2022. The Malaysia Digital Initiative is expected to attract companies, talent and investment to build a digital ecosystem within the nation.
  
The existing tax incentives for the Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) will be maintained, provided the MSC company meets the designated location requirements and thresholds pertaining to the number of employees and the annual capital expenditure. 
  
The newly launched MD Initiative is expected to bring a new set of incentives, rights and privileges which will be announced later.
